Mobile phones with 5 megapixels are sooo 2007, since 2008, we will see, mobile phones, the 8-megapixel cameras integrated into their DNA. Starting the ball rolling, two major competitors, the Sony Ericsson Samsung C905 and the i8510 innov8.

Sony Ericsson C905 - Cyber-shot perfection


Unveiled in July, the Sony Ericsson C905 is the 8-megapixel phone announced in the UK. And what a great handset is how it is not only the 8 mega pixels, the reason is that it is a Cyber-shot phone. That tells us a few facts: 1 / Sony Ericsson C905 is frighteningly powerful, 2 / photos will be good enough to punch a hole through time, 3 / no other camera phones is even close to it (hmmm, Really? Well, we'll see about that in a second). Sony Ericsson have really made a masterpiece here with a sliding form factor, these mobile beauty is a very sexy feel. In addition to the looks, you have the list of incredible features, kicking off surprising that with 8-megapixel camera, quickly followed by a superb media player, integrated GPS, HSDPA and WiFi.

But ... it is something the Sony Ericsson C905 is not. Despite this long list of features, it is not a smartphone. If we find an 8-Megapixel Smartphone, we have elsewhere.

Samsung i8510 innov8 - The intelligent weapon

Actually, we look at the Samsung i8510 innov8 the next 8-megapixel phone, for the United Kingdom. Apart from this baby is a smart phone. Also, it has a brilliant 8-megapixel camera, media player, blisteringly fast Web and the like, but the handset built on Symbian Series 60, the same as Nokia's series of "smart" mobile phones. This means that on top of the standard software and applications by using this mobile phone you can install loads more. In other words, it will give you, essentially, install any additional software you can think (and I bet that if you want to visualize a function from your mobile phone, someone has written a program to do it!) The Samsung i8510 is, in other words, a breathtaking God a phone.

The question, however, is the better phone: Sony Ericsson or Samsung?

Consider it ... Things were looking rosy for Sony Ericsson, Samsung and the fair turned, basically, because these two phones shares a nearly identical 8-megapixel camera module, so that the image quality of both, for all practical purposes, and the same. This is not good for Sony Ericsson, but it is for Samsung because the i8510 hammers the C905 on other details. A "Feature Phone, a mobile phone which is basically a normal telephone with bits stuck together, not only the best Smartphone, a determined and designed to have more power, even in the field. Therefore, if these phones next to each other ... well, I do not like to say (I am a Sony Ericsson mother), but the Samsung i8510 offers the Sony Ericsson C905 proper kicking!
