Canon Powershot A560 Digital Camera - an excellent basic digital camera

This model is years old now and is an upgradation to its previous model of the A550. This model has enhanced features than its previous model launched before it someday. It offers a 7.1 Megapixel image resolution on its 2.5-inch color LCD screen.

The main practical function that stands out is the face-detection autofocus, which allows the user to adjust the focus on the face of the image. This Canon digital camera does this by surrounding brackets around the faces. There has been a focus on and allows the user to adjust exposure and lighting. This USP of the model was highlighted in their ad campaign, and it is also the best feature of the camera, which works better than other competing models.

The camera takes a 4x zoom and captures detailed pictures thanks to its 7.1 Megapixel resolution. The openness of the zoom is fast and at a click of a button. The start up of this digital camera is fast and it takes about a 1,6 seconds delay between shots. The continuous mode is a little lethargic and manages approximately 1.3 frames per second. The other features include Still frame sound caption recording, Creative Effects menu, Auto White balance including five preset white balance modes and custom white balance setting capability, DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) compatibility.

This Canon digital camera weighs approximately 165 grams without battery and is not very elegant, but it fits into bags and pockets. It is not for the people who look very elegant and slim models. It is a subcompact camera and is above on features. It runs on a pair of AA battery supply or rechargeable AA Ni-MH or through its AC adapter kit. The batteries seem a better option to prevent the movement of the adapter and can also be used as a back-up power source.

This Canon digital camera is equipped with a 16 MB multimedia card, but can also be upgraded with SD Memory Card, SDHC Memory Card. The LCD display takes the rear of the camera and provides better viewing of the images and videos. Priced appropriately, it is a good bet for portable, user-friendly, function-oriented users.

New Digital Camera from Kodak

Let me begin by saying that Kodak is pushing the crap out of the Smart Capture feature on the Easyshare M1093. It’s designed to capture photos that they ‘would have otherwise been missed’ - they being the consumer.

Forget the babble, here Kodak’s overview:

* Innovative Smart Capture feature identifies the scene and adjusts camera settings for a great picture in just about any environment – automatically.
* Take stunning HD pictures and video and view them on an HDTV with the optional KODAK EASYSHARE HDTV Dock.
* Reduce blur caused by camera shake, subject movement or fast-action situations with image stabilization and blur reduction technology.
* For great shots of friends and family, face detection technology locates faces and automatically adjusts the camera settings.
* Capture the details in low light conditions and fast action situations with high ISO (up to 3200).

The Kodak Easyshare M1093 will be available September 2008 for $200

New Cybershot from Sony

Brothers the cameras are, but like most, one is more powerful and bigger. They’re both rocking 10 megapixels of capture goodness, but the T77 is just 5/8 of an inch thick and can hit 3200 ISO (I have a Canon SD750 that maxes at 1600). It’s also sport a 3-inch touchscreen, face detect and the usual digi camera goodies. The T700 on the other hand does all that plus it’s got a built-in 4GB flash drive and a larger LCD, 3.5-inches to be exact. There both 4x optical zoom with Carl Zeiss lenses and image stabilization with anti-blink technology (it snaps two photos quick like). The T700 and the T77 can even store the appropriate website you like to upload to and when connected to a PC via USB the cameras will do so accordingly.

Expected in late September of this year, they’ll come in a variety of colors and cost about $300 for the T77 and $400 for the T700.
